“I especially appreciated the details of color, lighting, clarity, and composition...Donner had to be very patient...in order for him to capture these wonderful photographs...”
— SDX Awards Judges
As a creative outlet, I've been getting back into drawing. With my love of photography, the obvious thing to draw was cameras: box cameras, twin lens cameras, instant print cameras, SLRs, and pretty much any camera I could think of. The end result is a sticker pack for iPhone messages.
“I had no idea walking into Marcus’s workshop just how valuable it would be. I learned just about as much there as I did in a whole semester in a photojournalism class back in college.”
— Robert McClure, Journalist
It’s not enough to take a good photo, it’s about telling a story with your photo. This is what I’ve dedicated myself to for the past 29 years: telling stories in pictures. From shooting fireworks to fire breathers, my goal is to capture the story hidden in life’s unique moments. I’m a photojournalist by trade so I’ve shot everything under the sun and the moon, but I love taking pictures of people most of all. I’ve shot with almost every camera brand out there, and currently favor mirrorless cameras. When I’m not taking photos, I love teaching people how to take better photos. From Seattle to Rome, I’ve taught thousands of people the key secrets and steps to telling stories in pictures.
P.S. I’ve also flown the Goodyear Blimp. Yes, really.
